    Hey folks,
wow, I never would have expected this to be such a great week for incoming given the fact that next week is Thanksgiving and yet here we are. Not only did the new Cories launch but we got in what is without a doubt THE best Colombia order in several months. And for those of you who didn't order this past week be sure to add some of the Moonrise Pink® Cories this week. The response has been phenomenal and we're already getting reorders on them.  And before I forget be sure to check next week's shipping schedule since it's limited due to the upcoming holiday.

Well like I just said we just received an incredible Colombia shipment last night and boy it did not disappoint. Not only did we get some much needed staples but we got in a TON of items we have not had in ages. Let's start with the item I am most excited for, Checkerboard Cichlids. Now anyone who has ever dealt with these knows how touchy they can be when it comes to shipping so we'll have to see how they are on a day to day basis but so far I'm pretty happy with them. Size is very small but thast's a good thing. Adults ship very poorly and very rarely survive. But small juveniles once acclimated tend to do just fine and are one of the most sought after dwarf Cichlids in existence. On the opposite side of the size spectrum we got in some large Striped Pike Cichlids. I'll get into the nomenclature further down below. These are big, fat and are sure to get snapped up by any Cichlid enthusiast. And sticking with the large theme we got in some perfect sized Peacock Bass. Just in time for the busy season.

But it wasn't just Cichlids that saw some nice additions from Colombia. This is probably the most amount of Cories we've gotten in a single shipment in a long time. I'm not going to go in to detail on each one here as I will do that down below but I will say as of right now they all look fantastic. These include Melini, Concolor, Gold Green and Punctatus. These are all must haves so that should make ordering very easy lol. In addition to Cories we got in some great looking Plecos. Selection has been pretty vanilla lately due to availability but that's not the case this week. My favorite will probably surprise most people but that has to be the Hypostomus Plecos. Now on the surface it looks like just another brown suckermouth cat. But take a look at the pic below and you'll see why I appreciate these so much. Ply they are very affordable and sell incredibly well when available. The on most everyone else will most certainly want are the XL Green Phantoms. That's a no brainer and it goes without saying that they will be the first to sell out. We also got in some of the nicest looking Butterfly Plecos I've seen in ages.

Obviously i could go on and on about the Colombia stuff till the cows come home but I do want to get to some of the other incoming items from this week. So I don't forget I'm going to start with the Discus. Got another really nice shipment from Singapore this week including Marlboros, Snakeskins Blue Diamonds and of course some great assorteds. Something we've added to the email this week is a section dedicated to Ornamental Goldfish. This is an area we have been working to expand upon for sometime now and there are some great examples of this down below. And speaking of far east imports we received some much welcome restocks this week including everyone's favorite, Blood Parrots. Ok that might be a bit of a reach but they are a top seller and something everyone should be ordering. Also from Asia but less of an abomination are the Rainbow Gobies. I featured these last week but I managed to get a much better pic of them this time around. And somehow I managed to leave these out last week but we did get in some 2" Tiger Shovelnose. Cute and adorable for now they'll be up in size and eating everything in sight in no time lol.

    Colombia
Got in a large size of what we're calling a Striped Pike these are also known as the Gray Sausage Pike. Whatever you decide to call it this Lugubria species is similar to Freckled Pikes and grows to be rather large and aggressive as adults. No matter the name Pikes always sell very well with die hard hobbyists always on the look out for something different.
No Colombia shipment would be complete without Peacock Bass. Size is great and they'll be displaying their bands and brightly colored fins in no time. These really don't need to be hyped up as they are always in limited supply and high demand.
Red Phantom Tetras might be one of the most suitable of it's family for nano tanks. Unlike most other species in this genus these stay borderline tiny but turn ruby red once they mature.
.Checkerboard Cichlids are here for the first time in over a year! I don't want to jinx it but so far they look to be holding pretty well. They are very small at the moment but that's typical as the larger ones never ship well. These are the holy grail of South American Dwarf Cichlids. If these continue to hold up you absolutely need these.
.Melini Cories are one of the "Bandit" types named after their black masking. Like most Colombia Cories these are always in super high demand and probably won't make it much past the weekend.
.Certainly not new but can never go wrong with Punctatus Cories. Even though these are a staple item around here that doesn't mean you shouldn't grab as many as you can. These are one of the sturdiest of the import Cories.
.Can't remember the last time Concolor Cories were here. Haven't quite colored up yet but that won't take long. Not super contrasting with pattern like some other species but these have a remarkable beauty all their own. Once settled they have almost a half and coloration with and orange hue to the fins.
Gold Green Cories are back and just like the Punctatus these are one the sturdier import cories. Size is average but color is always great on these once they're acclimated.
Whiptails got a restock on this shipment and these are probably the most underpriced of all the Colombia fish. As I've said before it's not what you pay for it but what you can get for it. Add some margin to these, you'll have no trouble getting it.
Didn't realize how long it's been since we've had Colombian Zebra Plecos till I started writing this but it's been a hot minute as the kids say. Goes without saying as these have been sorely missed. These will probably be gone before I finish typing this but try ordering them anyway, it's worth a shot.
Butterfly Plecos Have also been on hiatus for quite some time and are back with a vengeance. Size is a little mixy but that's only because there are some monsters in the mix. Not a bad one in the bunch.
.At a glance this might look like a common Pleco but these are actually Hypostomus sp. These are more like a Sailfin than a standard and therefore much nicer as adults. In addition to an exaggerated dorsal fin these display an almost symmetrical spotted pattern along the body. These spots develop a blueish hue to them as they mature.
.Orange Seam Plecos (not to be confused with the Gold Nugget variation) came in already displaying their almost honeycomb like pattern. The Orange coloration will become more prominent as they settle in.
XL Green Phantoms certainly deserve the name this time around. These are probably the biggest I've seen come through. Size is consistent as this individual is very representative of the group. Pretty limited numbers on these so don't delay on ordering some.
May not be the most clever name anyone ever thought up but Transparent Knives are certainly deserving of it. This unique looking species is communal and can be kept in groups.
    Peru
Peru Blue Tetras look to be getting deeper and deeper in color every day. These are nearly full grown and absolutely dwarf their far east raised counterparts.
Speaking of large the large Peru Bleeding Heart Tetras are shaping up to be some of the nicest I've seen. They're starting to develop a nice rich pink coloration throughout the body with blood red "hearts" really shining though.
The Julii Cories that came in the last Peru shipment are probably twenty percent bigger than the typical tank raised variety and equally if not nicer in overall appearance.
Lima Shovelnose came in huge and continue to grow. These are probable the biggest we've had come through here but even with that being said these are still much more manageable as adults than the more commonly available Tigers.
    Asia Imports
Believe it or not this a photo of the actual Choprai Danios we have in stock. This is what happens when you have someone (Bob) who knows how to use a camera. But these really are this nice.
Red Panda Barbs are back and are already starting to show color in our bare bottom tanks so you can only imagine what they'll look over some substrate.
Small Blood Parrots came in a bit oversize this week with some nice deep red coloration to them.
2" Tiger Shovelnose came in last week yet I somehow I managed to leave them off the email. Swear they've already doubled in size size these guys eat like they're about to go extinct.
Had these in last week's email but wanted to get a pic that was more representative of how awesome this batch is. Hard to tell but these are huge (for their species) and are arguably the hardiest of all the Gobies.
New Marble Moray Eels are just as big and just as nice as the last couple of batches. These are always a crowd pleaser for anyone looking for something a bit different.
Ran out of Vampire Swords at the beginning of the week so if you got scratched on them we got quite a few in on Tuesday so should be able to fill them this week.
    Far East Goldfish
Pretty sure the vendor made a mistake here as these are listed as 6-7cm Red & Black Orandas but most of them are much bigger than that. Regardless color is fantastic on these so that along with them being oversize makes them one of the best values this week here this week.
Celestial Eye Goldfish have been in short supply for eons but we finally managed to score some this week. These look like an Anablebs and a Fantail had a baby. One of the most bizarre looking Goldfish there is but people go nuts for these. Don't wait around on these cuz I have no idea how often we're able to get them.
Got Pearlscales in a couple different sizes this week. Featured here are the 10-11cm. With their odd protruding scales appearance these have always been a favorite amongst Goldfish aficionados. And yes, that is a thing.
This is a pic of the 5-6cm version of the previous slide.
Small Red Cap Orandas are about as bright and contrasting as you can get. Plus their candy cane color is perfect for this time of year. Not a bad name for some seasonal marketing, "Candy Cane Orandas".
    Community
The large assorted Rainbows have some absolute giants in the mix this week. This one wouldn't even fit in my hand. These are for sure show worthy display specimens.
At first one might think these are Red Rainbow that we commonly feature but these are actually the normal phase of the Millenia Rainbow. These are surprisingly less common than their albino counterparts and unlike the more common Reds the females on this species is actually quite attractive.
Redtail Blue Variatus are a new(ish) color morph that we haven't here before. They've been on the market sporadically but we're hoping this is one we'll be able to offer with some frequency. Pic doesn't do it justice as these guys have sky blue bodies with bright red tails.
Longfin Rosy Barbs got a restock this week and their fins are about as exaggerated as they get. People tend to be a little apprehensive when it comes to lf versions of Barbs due to their nippy reutation but just like the Tigers the longer fins on these tend to weight them down a bit not allowing them to chase down their tankmates.
Blue paradise are running a bit small but still have good color and pretty nice finnage. A must have for any labyrinth section.
Red Glass Barbs are back in full sing with a nice 50/50 male/female ratio. Doesn't really matter with this strain as both sexes are super bright and colorful.
Venezuelan Orange Cories, or whatever moniker they're on the list as, are starting to come in with a bit of size to them. Usually about the size of your pinky nail most of these are about an inch in total length. Regardless these are just like Green Neon Tetras in that they sell great on name alone.
I know, out of all the fish we feature why put up a pic of a basic Silver Angel? Because they look great, that's why. Oversize and near perfect barring. Almost look like wild Scalare types.
    Tetras & Friends
Longfin Neons are running larger than average this week which is typical this time of year for a lot Tetras since the last month has been fairly slow. That being said Black Friday is often times the start of the busy season so as demand goes up size will go down so grab some now while they're still display tank worthy.
Think I made it nearly two weeks without putting up a pic of the Black Phantoms but I couldn't hold off any longer. One day the size is gonna drop on these but that's not today so don't wait around till it does.
Rosy Tetras are back for the first time in a couple of months. Often referred to as a "poor man's Candy Cane Tetra" these little guys not only are similar in appearance but actually have better contrast in the fins making them an excellent addition to any Tetra section.
Longfin White Blushers have an elegance about them while being one of the creepiest looking fish all at the same time. Something about being able to see the inner guts of a fish has always been a little unnerving but they sell out every time they're available so there's definitely a fan base out there for them.
Albino Glo-Lites are back this week and better the ever. They usually take some time to settle in and color up but these have a gorgeous neon red stripe going all way alongside the body.
Regular Von Rios tend to get overlooked ever since their "Orange" counterpart came on the market and that's a shame because I really do believe that as adults this is the better looking fish.
red Eye Tetras are runnung huge this week. They may be a mostly silver fish but their bright red eyes and black marking really set them off. As water temps drop so will the size on a lot of the more common stock so load up while they're still big and bold.
Still got a handful of large Red Hooks available. These have been here just long enough to have near perfect fins. This pic was taken of this batch when they first came in but now they are about as clean as they get. Male for a great display when you put a school of these together.
    Cichlids
EB Carpinitis are back after a brief absence. Pic pretty much speaks for itself. These Florida raised beauties might be hell on wheels aggressive but certainly as brightly colored as they can be.
Regular Green Terrors are back this week and while they are in the top five when it comes to the more common aggressive Central/Southies that doesn't mean they're always available. Being poplar means always being in demand so stock up every time they're here.
Curviceps could fit either here or in the community section as they are technically a dwarf Cichlid and tend to be relatively docile. These hidden gems used to be far more common than they are these days and are always snapped up by hobbyists
Mentioned these last week but didn't have a decent pic, the medium Green Severums are fantastic both in terms of size and color. Can't tell from the photo but these are MUCH bigger than the regulars and definitely worth the extra money.
    Old World Cichlids
Got in more Maulana Bicolor Peacocks this week. Dollar for dollar this might be the best one in its class. Ton of color for not a ton of money.
There's never been a huge selection when it comes to Lake Victorians but the handful that are available tend to be pretty stunning so that could explain why Zebra Obliquedens have been such a staple for so long.
I've featured these quite a bit lately but there's a good reason why...just look at it, this is essentially freshwater's answer to a saltwater Flame Angel. Red Nyererei could arguably be one of the best looking species of freshwater fish available
Got in a fresh batch of assorted regular Haps and as usual it does not disappoint. Even if you don't offer a ton of African Cichlids this is one you should absoultely be carrying. Ton of variety for a very low price tag.
Msobo Deeps are another one of those highly underrated Mbuna that I just don't understand. Males grow up to have one of the best purplish blue/black mottled colorations of any fish out there and the females are bright yellow. This is a must have for any Cichlid selection.
Large Rustys continue to be one of the best value Mbuna around. Color is some of the best purple found in freshwater and you get a lot of size and pop for the money.
Red Top Hongi are back and not only are they a bit oversize, the color is about as good as it gets for just about any Mbuna.
    Discus
    Marlboro 2-2.5"
    Snakeskin 2-2.5"
    Assorted 2-2.5"
    Inverts
    Blue Diamond Shrimp
    Fancy Mix Shrimp
Leaving this guys in this week because we got more in for the second week in a row. Not sure how consistent this will be from week to week so pick some up before the holiday rush is in full swing.
