    Hey folks,
Great news, the launch date for the highly anticipated GloFish® Moonrise Pink® Cories has been moved up to November 16th! This now gives everyone the opportunity to stock up in time for Black Friday weekend. These actually made their first public appearance this past weekend at Aquashella LA and the response was fantastic. Only solidified what we already knew which is these are a super exciting new addition to the line. I'm sure plenty of people were taking pics/videos of them to post on their social media pages so if you haven't already you'll most likely be getting requests for these very soon so now you'll have the supply to meet the demand. Should make for a very exciting holiday season.

Speaking of the holidays, as we get closer to that time of year that means we are that much closer to our busy season. And with that in mind we have plenty of great items to start stocking up on. We'll start with Colombia. Since got Peru last week (still have some great items from that shipment btw) we didn't any Colombian imports but we made up for that this week. First and most limited are the Peacock Bass. Got in just a few pieces but they are very nice and therefore will go very quickly. We also got in what look to be some of if not the biggest Ossa Knives I've ever seen in my life. While these tend to be rather sedentary by nature making them hard to notice people will notice these, they are gigantic beasts! But I will have to say that my favorite item on this shipment lies at the other end of the size spectrum and that is the Loxozonus Cories. We've gotten these a couple pf times this year but always in very limited numbers. We finally got a decent amount of these but even then I doubt it's enough to go around so order early. And speaking of Cories we also got refilled on Pygmies so if you managed to miss out on them the last couple of times here's your chance to load up.

Far East shipments were packed full of much needed restocks but a few long lost goodies as well. I'll start with the obvious, Fire Gold Apistos. These are captive variant of the Agassizii and one of the most coveted by hobbyists. These are so stunning that they practically glow in the dark once mature with both males and females displaying great color. Sticking with far east raised Cichlids we also got in a fresh batch of Turkana Jewels. These usually take a week or so to settle in and regain their color after shipping but these guys were in full color the second they hit our tanks. These are as red as Santa's sleigh. Perfect color for this time of year. Hey, if Home Depot can start putting out Xmas stuff  at the beginning of October I can make Santa Clause references at the end of it lol. But I will say the biggest surprise for me this week were the Daisy Rice Fish. Haven't been a huge fan of these historically since the ones I used to get in my retail days were less than awe-inspiring. But apparently I didn't have a very good source for them as these are spectacular. We have them in a top tier tank where the light is shining down on them and they are just as bright as any tree topper. Ok, that's my last holiday reference I swear. But I am serious about how nice the Rice Fish are. Might be my favorite import this week.

And once again this week's incoming had plenty of great Florida fish as well. They might not be the most exciting selections but I have to highlight both the Black Phantom and Candy Cane Tetras. I have pics below but neither really illustrates how fantastic both of these really are. If I was still in retail i would set up a display tank with both of these with  live plants and it would look amazing. Yes, they really are that nice. But as for more exotic species we got in quite a few Cichlids this week starting with Premium OB Peacocks. These are hybrids from a number of different species including some haps but at the end of the day what you get are some truly unique show quality specimens. Size and color are outstanding and you won't find these anyplace else. From the same source we also got in some equally outstanding Fancy Mixed Mbuna. And yes, these also contain hybrids but I can tell you nobody will care because if you want great colored fish at a great price you're not going to do better than these. Got three sizes on them including regular, medium and large. And last but not least we got a restock on large assorted Haps. Now most of these are not hybrids but they are still fantastic. Great mix of species including a couple of surprises I haven't seen in there before. Order some and see if you can figure out which ones I'm talking about. Seriously doubt you'll be disappointed.

GloFish® Moonrise Pink® Cories under straight actinic lighting. Quite possibly the most stunning one in the line yet!
    Colombia

Latest batch of Peacock are nice, big and fat. They are also super limited as the season looks be winding down as I mentioned a couple weeks ago so act quickly if you want one
New Ossa Knives are absolute monsters. Quite honestly I didn't even know they got this big. Most are well over a foot long
Since we've been able to get large Bushynose back in stock they have flying out of here every week. People are always looking for larger sized fish for established aquariums.
Royal Plecos came in at a medium size this week. Good size and pretty clean fins on most of these. Tend to hold up really well as long as they have access to some driftwood to aid in their digestion.
Red Pacu got refilled this week. Most impractical aquarium fish there is so at the very least inform your customers as to how big these get guys get.
Punctatus Cories also got a restock this week. These tend to be one of the sturdiest Cories we get and that includes tank raised species. Not to mention they are one of the most attractive of the "affordable" Cories.
Been a while since we tried getting Loxozonus Cories in but this time the supplier was able to send us quite a few so hopefully these will be available for more than a couple days
Pygmy Cories really don't need an introduction or any kind of promoting. These little cuties sell themselves. Work well in both standard and nano sized aquariums.
    Asia Imports
Apistogramma Agassizi "Fire Gold" are back for the first time in nearly two years. This is arguably one of the nicest captive strains as both sexes have bright orange coloration with the males attaining a purple outline along the dorsal side. Collectors will be out in droves to snag these guys by the pairs.
Been getting a steady supply of Turkana Jewels as of late which is a good thing since no matter how many we bring in they sell out almost immediately. This group came in with color right out of the bag which is rare for this strain as they typically tend to fade during transit but these guys looked like this traffic lights right from the start. With the holiday season upon us maybe try calling them Christmas Jewels. Little bit more festive than Turkana.
More Orange Chromides came in this week and this might be the best colored group we've gotten yet. They're slightly smaller than the the last couple batches but they make up for it with a deep, rich tangerine coloration with even richer speckling in the body.
Mentioned these last week and I'll mention them again since we keep getting numbers on them since Dwarf Pea Puffers seem to be one of the most seasonal species out there. We'll literally go months without being able to get these adorable little guys so they're here just in time for what is typically the start of the busy season. These could possibly be the best selling Puffer there is, that is of course when you can get your hands on them.
Red Panda Barbs have been out for a bit but make a more than welcome return this week. These grow up to be one of the most spectacular looking of all Barb species. Deep red color mixed in with black markings. Absolute stellar display fish as adults.
Just like the Daisy Rice Fish the Emerald Eye Rasboras deserve better in terms of a pic as these arrived in fantastic shape. Looking very silver here these actually have a bit of a pattern to them until they're removed from the water. Also aptly named "Eye Spot Rasbora" they have a very prominent black marking on their Dorsal fin that makes them stand out
Chili Rasboras got a restock this week and the only reason I mention them is so that everyone knows we have them in stock, for now. Anyone who knows anything about nano tanks knows that this is THE fish that everyone is always looking for. Small, bright and colorful this is a must have for any nano/planted aquarium so be sure to stock up. Your customers are looking for these.
Seems like we're on a roll with the nano category as we got another restock on Galaxy Rasboras this week. And just like the Chili Rasboras this in another "must-have" nano fish your customers are looking for.
Daisy Rice Fish are back for the first time in forever. These are the Blues, not the Platinums that seem to be easier to obtain these days. And I must say that this pic absolutely does them no justice. One day I'll learn how to take pics like our in hose photographer Bob as these guys deserve a better showing. These are absolutely fantastic looking. Trust me, you need these.
Neon Gobies are back and while they don't look like much now they settle in fairly quick and will start showing of their namesake in no time. Not a huge selection of freshwater gobies most of the time so people are always on the look out for something like these.
New gold Dojos are about as nice as I've seen come through here. Size is excellent and color ranges form bright yellow to tangerine. This is a batch you definitely want to bring in.
I've said it before but I'm not a huge fan of most albino strains. However the Albino Spotted Hoplo Cats are definitely one of the exceptions. These are fantastic looking as juveniles and are just as nice as adults. And just like other Hoplo types they are quite peaceful. Pretty much like a giant Cory Cat.

Giant Danios have been getting filled lately so let's hope that trend continues. These have been in very short supply since last year's bout with Milton but they finally look to be making a comeback. And as you can see from the pic size and color are surprisingly really good given the length of their absence.
Medium Bosemani Rainbows are starting to make an appearnce once again. Size is fair bot the color is exceptional. Definitely worth the extra money.
Assorted Male Rainbows are a fantastic value if your looking for a great mix of color and pop. Bonus feature is you don't have to worry about getting stuck with females if you don't a have a customer base that's interested in breeding them.
Latest strain of Red Paradise might be better served as being called Burgundy Paradise. Very different by comparison to what we usually get under this moniker but certainly no less attractive. Still have great contrast with long black and white finnage.
This week's Pearl Gouramis are perfectly in the middle of the road in terms of color and size. Should ship well as the larger ones usually require a lighter pack.
Pic really doesn't show it but Marigold Wag Swords are about as bright as I've ever seen. Size is solid but these literally stand out from across the room.
This week's Green Swords are looking very wild type-like. Lots of spotting on both males and females. Great seller for those looking for a more natural looking strain.
    Tetras
Silver Hatchets got a restock out of Colombia this week. Size is always good on these but check with your rep on availability as they can sometimes take a minute to settle in.
Green Neons also got a restock from Colombia this week and like I say every time we get these it's all about the name. These sell regardless of the fact that they're about half the size of the other Neons we stock.
Blind Cave Tetras are back this week and even though I think they're one of the creepiest looking fish commonly available they never seem to hang around for very long.
Medium Bleeding Hearts have been here long enough to settle in really start showing off their deep saturated pink body color. Their "hearts" are also looking very prominent as well.
I don't care how many times I've featured them, Black Phantoms continue to be THE best looking Tetra here on the farm. Size is huge. Color is awesome. Buy them now.
I keep waiting for Candy Canes to run out of availability which I'm assuming will happen right before Christmas. But in the meantime they seem to get bigger each and every week. A must-have for the holidays.
    Old World Cichlids-
    Haps & Peacocks
Got in a new batch of large Assorted Haps. And while there is a mix of both males and females there isn't a bad fish in the group. Pictured here is a male Livingstoni. Not gonna get more bang for the buck than with these guys.
Speaking of bang for the buck managed to find a couple of Ndiwe Fire Haps in the large assorted mix. DO NOT sell these cheap if you happen to score a couple. Separate them out and sell them accordingly. I've seen these fetch anywhere from $80-$120 retail so make some margin on them.
As I said earlier the large assorted Haps have some females in the mix but that's not a bad thing. There are some real gems in there like this Milomo mix. Even though it may not have some of the gaudy color of the males pattern is excellent and it's a relatively uncommon species at a rock bottom price.
Regular Compressiceps have eluded us for a bit but they are currently back in stock. Once upon a time referred to as the "Malawi Eye-biter" this species has a rather unwarranted reputation as they are not nearly as aggressive as many other species of Haps tend to be. And if for whatever reason you've never seen a fully colored adult male these are absolute stunners when fully grown.
Premium OB Peacocks are quite possibly the best looking fish on the farm, period. Tons of variants including this hyper tangerine looking beauty. These will add a huge spark of color to any Cichlid selection.
In addition to all of the remarkable Premium OB Peacocks we got in we also still have a handful of Hi-Yellow OBs available. Just like most OB strains these are highly variable in appearnce with the main difference being they all have a bright yellow background as the name would suggest
I featured these last week but it wasn't a particularly flattering pic so here they are again, Albino German Red Peacocks. About as nice of a fish as you can get for the money. Put this over dark substate with a black background and you got a "Best in Show" winner in aby competition.
If you're looking for something a little more budget friendly then we have the Albino German Red Peacocks in a regular size as well. These will grow up to look just like the beauties in the previous slide, it's just gonna take a while.
Had these a couple months ago but they sold out right away and haven't been able to get them since but we finally got a restock on the Yellow Albino Swallowtail Peacocks. Once again the pic not doing any justice but these are as bright a yellow as you can get. Look super juiced but these are Florida raised locally and are all natural.
    Old World Cichlids-Mbuna
Hara Reef aka White Top Afras came in yesterday and if you've never stocked any Cynotilapia species before try some of these. They color up at a small size and both males and females have patterns to them.
Got in three sizes of Fancy Mixed Mbuna this week. If you've never tried them before grab a handful and you'll see that for a negligible price difference you get a much nicer looking fish. Quite a few hybrids but most people in the market for assorted Mbuna aren't concerned with specific species, they just want brightly colored fish and that's exactly what you get with these for not a lot of money. This is a pic of the mediums.
I wasn't exaggerating when I said you get a lot of color for not a lot of money with the Fancy Assorted Mbuna. The large are particularly impressive. Great way to fill a large tank with a ton of color for not a ton of money.
As I mentioned there definitely some hybrids in the Fancy Buna mixes but that can be a really good thing. This individual for example looks to have some Cobue Afra in it's genes. Don't think there's a single fish in the batch that isn't a knockout.
