Late South America shipment, but regular Asian imports and plenty of nice Florida Fish
Hey folks,
Hope everyone had a nice and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. And for the retailers out there hope you had a good weekend of sales. Sounds like a lot of you did as the weather was pretty miserable throughout a lot of the country. But with that in mind since it was a short week w are till playing catch up on putting together orders and putting away new fish so this week's opening monologue gonna be a bit brief.
Just because it was a short week doesn't mean we're short on fish. Lots of nice incoming so I made sure to put in as many pics as could down below. Far East always brings lots of easy sellers and my favorite has to be the Apistogramma Agassizi Double Reds. Size can be hit or miss on these but this week's are fantastic. Apistos continue to be the best selling group of dwarf Cichlids in the hobby so the enthusiasts are always on the hunt for anything they can get. And speaking of dwarf Cichlids we're are completely stocked up on just about every type of Ram you could want including German Blues, Golds, Blacks, EBs and Bolivian. Considering how many people are downsizing their tanks it's always a good idea to have a good variety of smaller species available.
But if you're in the market for something non-Cichlid related we got plenty there too. New Blue Kerri Tetras are as nice as they come. Glass Bloodfins are running much bigger than usual. Regular Bloodfins are back in stock after being unavailable for a few weeks. Veiltail Cherry Barbs are absolutely stunning with massive fins. Red Glass Barbs are back in the fold along with LF Rosy. Just about every Rainbow is running oversize with outstanding color. Best looking Swords this week include Neon, Marigold Wag and Hifin Lyretail.
For those of you on the lookout for something a bit beefier we got you covered there as well. Still have a smattering of 2-3" and 3-4" Redtail Cats. Just got a new batch of Tiger Shovelnose in this morning. 3" Clown Knives are eating like champs. Managed to sneak in a few more Royal Clown Knives (these look amazing in person BTW). And finally we are hoping to land some medium+ sized Silver Arowanas in late tonight so check for availability on those with your rep.

| Starfire Red® Angels are still shipping in good numbers. And don't be surprised if you get a couple the the patterned beauties in the mix. |
| Starfire Red® Gourami |
| Electric Green® Pristella |
| Sunburst Orange® Pristella |
| Medium Royals are one of the best values when it comes to the "Fancy Plecos". |
| Agassizi Cories are one of the biggest Cories in stock right now and are holding up great. |
| Blochi Cories ARE the biggest Cories we have in stock right now. Not a ton left and no idea when we'll be able to get more so don't be kicking yourself later for missing out on these. |
| Medium Black Ghost Knives are nearly twice the size of the regular/smalls so well worth the extra dough. |
| Green Neons. Put the name out there and you will be sold out in a week. |
| Now that they have had a chance to settle down the Flat Head Spotted Cats are really showing why that is such a well deserved name. But what's even more impressive, check out the whiskers and the tail extensions...they're twice the size of the body itself! |
| Red Belly Pacu |
| Not much I really I need to say about Colombian Zebra Plecos other than everyone should be stocking these every time they're available. |
| Most of the Adonis Plecos are a bit bigger than this but I was in a hurry and he was the first one I could catch. |
| Pygmy Cories managed somehow to get another restock this week. A tad bit smaller than the last batch but they're called Pygmy for a reason. |
| Apistogramma Agassizii Double Reds came in this week and they are about as big as they ever come in as. Color will pop on these guys very quickly once acclimated given their size already. |
| If you haven't tried Chili Oscars yet then now is your chance. Even though they are a bit pricey compared to regular Oscars these guys stand out from across the room. And while I'm pretty sure they're juiced I've yet to have these fade out on me. |
| Electric Blue Rams are coming in a bit more steadily than they have been in recent weeks. This is definitely in addition to, not in place of your other Ram offerings. I always recommend carrying the "Big Four" when ever available...German Blue, Gold Bolivian and of course these guys right here. |
| Wouldn't be a newsletter without mention of some sort of "Balloon" bodied fish and this week's selection are the Blood Red Jewel Cichlid version. But whatever you do don't let that cute little rotund body fool you, these guys are still just as aggressive as their normal bodied counterpart so give them plenty of room and hiding places so they don't tear each other to shreds. |
| Glass Bloodfin Tetras are not only unique in appearnce but this week's batch is quite bright in their coloration. |
| Blue Kerris are one of the easiest sells. They're purple. They're bright. And best part, they're not in big box stores. |
| As I've mentioned before be sure to check out our socials so you can see the latest videos like the one we just did on these Firecracker Swords. Pics never do them justice, you really do have to see them in person but if you haven't had a chance to do that then a video is the next best thing. |
| Instead of Leopard Cteonpoma try marketing these as African Leopard Leaf Fish. Much more descriptive and easier to understand. Only the fish geeks know what a "Ctenopoma" is lol. |
| Albino Spotted Hoplos are arguably one of the coolest mid-sized Cats we get in. And believe it or not these only get better with age. |
| Borneo Suckers are fantastic cleaners and work really well even in smaller tanks. Which is perfect considering how trendy nano tanks are right now. |
| Tiger Shovelnose might just be the best looking of all the river monster type fish that come through here. |
| Got a handful of Royal Knives available this week. Running around 8". |
| Veiltail Cherry Barbs are not only running big but their tails are ridiculous, and I mean that in a good way. |
| Red Glass Barbs look to be coming in with pretty good consistency. Size is solid and male female ratio is is about 50/50 which isn't a bad thing considering the females are yellow which compliments the red coloration of the males |
| Hifin Lyretail Swords are not only nicely colored but there's a great mix of varieties in there as well. |
| Neon is probably the best looking of all the baseline Swords this week. Very nice size and super bright. |
| German Gold Rams get out sold by the blues fairly consistently and I'll never understand that. Yellow is a far lee common color in freshwater fish compared to blue and these can get a tangerine cap atop the head. I think most people don't give them a chance and automatically go with the old standby. But I highly recommend stocking both as these really compliment each other. |
| And speaking of Blues, even though I do highly recommend stocking the golds this is a staple that everyone should be putting on every order. |
| Angels have been a bit lean as far as availability is concerned lately but it looks like it's starting to improve. A good example are the medium Koi that came in this week. |
| Lavender Gouramis have been hit or miss for a bit but that isn't the case this week. Should have enough to go around and they are the best looking of the staple varieties at the moment. |
| Well you can definitely tell summer is here as we are starting to see size increases across the board and the Colombian Tetras are a perfect example. A few smaller ones in the mix here and there but overall very impressive and one of the best looking Tetras this week. |
| Mixed sex Congos aren't exactly huge but are very nice size and the color is excellent. |
| Every time we have Candy Canes available I'm putting them in here since these have such a weird seasonal availability to them. Despite what their name suggests these are mostly around during the summer months as opposed to closer to Christmas when their name is most applicable. |
| Black Phantoms still coming in at a good size with plenty of males showing off their jet-black finnage. |
| Got a small number of 4" Fredrichstahli aka Yellow Jacket Cichlids (22156) in this week. Don't usually see them come in much bigger than half this size so grab some while you can. |
| Regular Green Terrors are back in stock but who knows for how long. Seems like it's always feast or famine on the smaller sizes with these. |
| Check out our socials, we got some great videos of the Jumbo Heckelii we have in stock. Pics really don't do these justice as they are probably the nicest I have ever seen in person. |
| The day I get tired of looking at these is the day I will stop featuring Red Spot Gold Severums in the email. So in other words, never lol. |
| Yellow Blaze Lithobates look absolutely stunning! Trick to keeping them fired up is they have to be the most dominant fish in the tank so keep them by themselves or with less aggressive species. |
| One of the best things about the XL Peacocks is no matter how many times I feature them I can always go out there and grab a pic of something completely different from the previous week. |
| Just like the afore mentioned XLs the large assorted Peacocks are not short on color or variety in the mix. |
| For whatever reason we haven't had OB Red Zebras in quite sometime. The local strain we get is about as nice of one as there is out there. Already tangerine at about 1.75" which means they're just gonna be that much richer in color as adults. |
| Got Fancy mix Mbuna in all three sizes this week including medium which is what's featured here. These are a bit smaller than the standard mix but you're going to get a much different variety of some very unique color variants. |
