GloFish® Pristellas are 20% off for the rest of March 2026
Hey folks,
This week's newsletter is going be a little abbreviated due to the fact that we are running around preparing for AquaShella Orlando at which we will be displaying a multitude of goodies including a brand new item. So be sure to come check out our booth if you're planning on attending. If you're unable to make it to the show be sure to keep a watchful eye out on our social media pages as we will be posting pics and videos of the event.
Well I already let the cat out of the bag with the opening pic. Starfire Red® Angels are back in stock and I am being told we have good numbers on these so feel free to stock up. In other GloFish® news if you haven't already seen the Specials page Pristellas are 20% off till the end of March so this is the perfect time to load up on these gorgeous gems. These compliment the rest of the line incredibly well and in all my time in retail these sold right along side the other Tetras, not in place of them. Customers WILL buy both if you have them available. March is the perfect time to be running promos as we aren't quite into pond season and aquarium fish sales are still running strong.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this monologue this week's recap of new items is going to be a bit brief but I am leaving in items from last week's email that are still looking great and available in good numbers so don't think that you're experiencing Deja vu when you see some of the repeat pics lol. But just because we're short on time doesn't mean we're short on fish. We'll start with Colombia because as usual the shipment did not disappoint. I'm gonna dive right in with my absolute favorite item this week and that's the Galaxias L240 Pleco. this species has a plethora of common names but that's the one we're going with this week. These are in the Leporicanthicus genus so for any of you non Pleco geeks that means these guys require some meaty foods in their diet as well as they tend to be a bit territorial towards other bottom dwelling species, especially with each other. In addition these we got quite the selection of Plecos on this shipment including Snowball, Zebra, Butterfly and three sizes of Green Phantoms.
Not to be outdone this week the Characin category (giant Tetras) got some significant restocks. New Red Hooks are big with bright, you guessed it, red hooks. Pinktail Chalceus came in at very nice size with color just starting to come into the tails. These should be well colored by the time they leave the farm as they just got in a few hours ago. And to round out the bunch we got everyone's favorite river monster, Red Pacu. Closely related but considerably smaller we got in new batches of both Green Neon and Gold Tetras.
While Colombia saw some great additions this week the Far East was able to hold it's own. Without question the most popular item will be the Tricolor Barbs that we just cannot keep in stock no matter hoe many we bring in. If you haven't been keeping up with the emails the past several week's this is a new(ish) item coming out of Indo. It is a piebald color variant of the Gold Barb. These are absolutely fantastic looking. So much so that we have set up a pond here for them as a future breeding project but it will be some time before we have sustainable numbers on them so for the time being they will continue to come in as imports. In second place for what I believe to be a top seller this week are the Black Tiger Badis. Nano fish continue to keep their stranglehold on the hobby as more and more enthusiasts discover the joy of keeping these tiny gems. Plus a lot of people just don't have the room for bigger tanks these days so this is the most logical choice for limited space. I would argue that once settled these are actually more attractive than the ever popular Scarlet Badis. I'm sure that comment will cause a lot of people to freak out but that's just my opinion.
Reach out to your rep if you have any questions.

| New Galaxias/Vampire/Toothnose Plecos are big and awesome. One of my all time favorite Loricariids. Fins are rough as they usually are when they first arrive but they clean up quickly and are super impressive. Don't be surprised if you see one or two of these at Global in a couple weeks. |
| It's Green Phantom season apparently as we have been gettign these pretty consistently thae past few weeks in multiple sizes. Should have small, large and XL available this week. If you have to choose just one go with the XL, best bang for the buck. |
| But if you don't have room for the XL Green Phantoms we look to have plenty of smalls. Look like miniature versions of their bigger siblings. |
| Can't have a respectable Colombia shipment without some Royal Plecos in the mix. The smalls are starting to come in bigger and bigger each week. Good time to stock up. |
| These will most likely be sold out before I even finish typing this email but just in case they don't this week's batch of Whiptail Cats look fantastic. Some of them even have their "whips" intact lol. |
| Melanistus Cories got a restock on this week's Colombia shipment. One of the sturdier import Cories and almost always come in at a great size. |
| Loxozonus Cories look like what would happen if a Metae and a Melanistus had a baby lol. These are VERY limited so order now if you want any. |
| Red Hooks might be one of the greatest dither fish of all time. Perfect for large Central/South American Cichlid displays. While they themselves are not particularly aggressive they hold up just fine with tankmates that are. |
| Pinktail Chalceus came in at fantastic size this week. Perfect tankmate for large semi aggressive species. |
| Medium Black Ghost Knives are big and impressive. More than worth the extra dough over the regulars this week. |
| Tricolor Barbs are back this week and while this batch is a touch smaller than the last they still look amazing and I'm sure will sell out in a heartbeat as they have every time we've gotten them in. This is essentially a piebald morph of the Gold Barb but as you can see they have a drastic contrast to them providing a very unique overall appearance. |
| Tiger Badis came in earlier in the week and these have got to be some of the nicest I have seen yet. Some huge (relatively speaking) males in the mix showing fantastic color and barring. As usual there are certainly some small ones in the group but again that's all relative given that these don't get much bigger than an inch. |
| BB Gobies are all over the map when it comes to size but that never seems to matter as these always sell out in the blink of an eye. Though technically brackish as long as you keep these guys under hard water conditions with a proper diet they usually tend to hold up quite well. |
| New Flowerhorns are in relatively limited numbers this week but what we do have look amazing. There's certainly plenty of what I would call "standard" looking i=ones in the group but then there are some outliers in the mix like this magnificent blue beauty. |
| 2" Red Peacocks are in as a single species (as opposed to being in the 2" mix) for the first time in I can't remember how long. These are far east imports so they are definitely juiced but very nice looking and priced to sell. |
| Blue Tiger Parrots are back this week. Not much more I can say about these other than like most balloon bobble fish these sell insanely fast so you should always be stocking them when they're available. |
| Platinum Parrots are in this week and pair very well with the previously mentioned Blue Tiger Parrot. This actually makes for a great display as they are a sharp contrast to each other. |
| Can't remember a time when we had such consistent stock on Orange Chromides. Been in on a steady stream lately but that's not likely to last as these little apricot beauties tend to run out pretty quick. |
| New batch of Barbatus Cories (THE greatest species of Cory in the world) came in nearly twice the size of the last batch. That still leaves them relatively small (Around1-1.25") but much more obvious as to what they're going to look like as adults. |
| 4" Bala Sharks are in this week. Super clean looking and ready to jump out onto the floor lol. But in all seriousness definitle yput a lid of these guys. They will jump. |
| Rosy Tetras may be considered to be a "poor man's" Candy Cane Tetra but I couldn't disagree more. Once these settle in they're every bit as nice as well as having better contrast in the fins. |
| Penguins. Are. Huge. Mic drop. |
| Bloodfins are back in stock this week at a really nice size. |
| If you're in need of Serpaes this week definitely go with the longfins. Been more consistent in fill rates lately and just a better looking option overall. |
| Have a new variant of Gold Pearl Gouramis available this week. These are Florida raised and have a very unique gold/green sheen over them. Not washed out like some of the other strains and retain their "pearly" pattern as well. |
| Gardneri Killies are some of the nicest I've seen in months. Males are huge with outstanding color. |
| One of these days I'll have our resident photographer (Bob) take a real photo of the Blehri Rainbows so everyone can see how amazing this incredibly overlooked species really is. |
| German Gold Rams have some huge, gorgeous males in the mix this week. |
| As usual the large assorted peacocks some Haps in the mix like this male Lithobates. |
| Got a handful of male Benga Sunshine Peacocks this week. Fantastic strain of one of the most popular Peacocks of all time. |
Medium Blue Dolphin Moorii came in late last week but didn't have time to get them into the email so here's a prime example of what they look like. |
| Same as the previous slide there a handful of male Taiwan Reef in the large assorted Peacock mix this week. Nomenclature not withstanding it's a great value grab bag at the moment. |
| Another example of the XL "Peacocks" available this week. |
| I'm leaving the Msobos in cuz they're still awesome. Almost never I have these available in a large size. |
| 3" Eupterus x Angelicus might be one of if not the best value for bigger cats this week. |
